Ghost In The Shell

“Ghost in the shell” (GITS) is a popular anime, and is said to have inspired many movies like The Matrix. GITS first came out as comics (manga). Then came out the popular movie, which had a very different, and a more sobre, serious flavour to it than the comics. It was very different from the comics. This movie reached out to so many people. It is sad to have inspired The Matrix.

The story basically revolves around “Major” Kusanagi, who is a leader of The Special Forces Department, “Section 9″. She is a cyborg, and is in search for her soul, and answer to the question “Is she alive?”

After the movie, GITS Stand alone complex was a series released. There came another series GITS SAC 2. After that GITS 2 - Innocence the movie was released, which revolves around Batou, Major’s friend and lover. Then came the latest movie, GITS Solid State Society, which is truely amazing.
