At last after all the futile attempts, somehow I managed to push my friends into the theaters with this one. I got the tickets in INOX, and in fact we reached there way to early. The initial SALT trailer made my friends say ‘WOW’ but neither did it set the tone nor did it dampen any spirit.
I did not expect a epic, but neither did I expect an average flick. I must say the film did lie in between these two lines. The first half was full of melodrama and the kid getting beaten up, over and over again.
The movie never really took off. It did hit an high when Mr. Haan rescued the kid Dre. Later, it fell down again with the Tori Henson understandably overacting.
Thanks to breathtaking cinematography which had the astute realism of the Chinese capital, Beijing and the natural beauty of the Himalayas captured like never before. The movie was dragged a little, bent over a little, but its a must watch for the inherently talented, Jaden Smith.
After the climax, ‘It all runs in the blood’ said my friend. Well, I guess you all will join me to say,”Well, Indeed”.
