Calvin and Hobbes
This comic is one of Watterston’s most celebrated creations. Calvin, a naughty little boy with a philosophical bent and unusual brilliance for his age along with his companion Hobbes, a stuffed tiger have delighted the readers since 1985. He feels enslaved by consumerism, hates to go to school, loves making gruesome snowmen, and plays Calvin ball, an anarchic game of ever-changing rules. Calvin’s philosophical views about big things in life are portrayed in a comical way which even gives the readers something to think about. Calvin’s dad usually ends up giving bits and pieces of information to Calvin that makes him come up with thoughts which forms the base of most of the comic strips.
It offers the readers sophisticated yet deceptively simple evocation of the inner lives of children along with a huge dosage of humor. If you are looking at wits and humor then Calvin comics is the right thing for you to read.
